Playtesters

Get in on the ground floor of exciting unpublished games at the Unpub Mini San Diego event. Local board game designers will demo their new board game creations. Board game players will have the opportunity to play these games with the designers and then give feedback on the games they played. The feedback of players is of vital importance to improving and enhancing these game projects as they journey toward publication.

We will also have exciting raffle prizes throughout the day. Receive raffle tickets each time you play a game and provide feedback.

Come play games and bring your friends!

Game Playtest Schedule

During the preregistration phase, we will accept submissions for game designers. When preregistration closes on April 15, we'll assign as many spots as we are able, then release the schedule.

We are currently processing designer preregistrations. We'll assign as many spots as we are able and release the schedule soon.

As game designers sign up, we will update this schedule. Playtesters, come for as long as you are able, or just come for a specific game that you’d like to try out!

The schedule is now complete. Playtesters, come for as long as you are able, or just come for a specific game that you’d like to try out!

Designer Preregistration

Sign up for a spot to run a playtest and get feedback on your unpublished game. Fill out this form once for each game you would like to playtest at the event. Tell us how many sessions you would like to have and then your preference of session times.

If your game will take longer than 60 minutes to playtest and get feedback from players, let us know in the comments that you would like two sessions in a row.

Keep in mind that feedback from other designers is especially invaluable, so please plan on leaving yourself time to be a playtester for other games at the event as well.

Designers should arrive early enough to set up their game before their first session's start time. We will provide copies of the Unpub feedback form, but feel free to bring your own feedback form if you would like. Game players will receive raffle tickets for playing games and filling out feedback forms.

After preregistration closes April 15, we’ll assign as many spots as we are able and we will send a confirmation email telling you which sessions you are registered for. The game information and schedule will be posted on this website and promoted in other materials too.

Unpub

Unpub, or The Unpublished Games Network, supports the game design and development community by organizing events designed to help unpublished games and their designers receive public playtests and feedback. These events are open to anyone who wishes to attend and play these games. Players are asked to evaluate the games based on their tastes and provide constructive criticism in the form of verbal and written feedback.
